Lot of upgrading going on at this nice little course. The original clubhouse and green fee office is being gutted and turned in to the new residence of the course owner Mr Chan and his family. Work in progress but looks like it will look quite something when completed.
HangDong Golf Course is a quite challenging ,plenty of trees and water, 9 hole golf course with the option to play off different tees for the second round in effect making a reasonable 18 hole experience.
Green Fees are exceptionally cheap at ฿360 including caddy fee!
Club rental at just ฿300 for 18 holes
Golf Cart just ฿600 for 18 holes but easy course to walk so probably only for the elderly or the infirm
Pay Green Fees here etc.
Quite decent beverages and snacks at reasonable prices.
New Toilets & Showers
New Rain/Rest Areas
This one next to the shop at hole 5 tee off area.
Par 4 Straight drive required with trees on either side and a strategically placed bunker on the left hand side. Should be able to go in to the green with 7 or 8 iron or a wedge for the longer hitters.
Lovely little par 3, a 6 or 7 iron for most players but you have to be straight with bunkers guarding the green to the left and right.
This is not what to do on any course let alone a short course.
This is hole 2/11 and there are 6 players and 6 caddies disrupting the whole course, these guys would never think of doing this on their home country course,in fact would not be allowed.
Not difficult to solve this problem and keep slow play out of the game, simply split in to 2 groups of 3, not exactly higher mathematics. Try not to be selfish and think of other players on the course wherever you may play.
One of the newest golf clubs in the ChiangMai area,in the Lamphun area about 30 minutes drive from ChiangMai City, 9 holes but probably extending to 18 holes.Very good reviews for this new addition to the local golf scene and an awesome video below that is a must see.

Mae Moh Golf Course is built on a mountain overlooking a huge clay lignite mine in Mae Moh, just south of Lampang. The course is run and managed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and is located 30 kilometers from Lampang or 125 kilometers away from ChiangMai.
The first was nine built in 1984 playing along the mountain ridge and offering spectacular views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Several holes feature uphill and downhill holes with blind shots to the greens and are a good test of any golfer. The second nine was finished in 1990 made the ChiangMai golf course a standard par-72 and lengthened the course to 6840 yards.
Located just 20 minutes away from the heart of ChiangMai city, Mae Jo Golf Club & Resort is especially designed for your most enjoyable golfing vacation experience.
Our 18-Hole par 72 course was specifically designed to blend in beautifully with the natural terrain and spectacular surroundings.
The course layouts, which were thoroughly designed based on maximum safety and risk-reward approach, provides challenging but fair play to both amateurs and professional golfers. Each hole has a unique design and requires different game plan to shoot for a par.
Several elevated tee boxes, which are scattered around the course, provide panoramic views of the course and surroundings, and at the same time, provide more challenging plays.
The course features rolling fairways and large challenging greens which are considered some of the most challenging greens in the northern part of the kingdom of Thailand.
Along side the fairways, golfers will come across many local fruit trees, such as Longan, Lychee, Pomello and Tangerine, which provide not only unique scenery but also a unique tasting experience.
Opened in 2009 and located around 1 to 1.5 hours from ChiangMai, Gold Canyon is set in a rural area not far from Lamphun. Gold Canyon is surrounded by orchards, woodlands, and canyons. The rural setting provides a relaxing and scenic location and the ChiangMai golf course is enjoyable for all.
Trees are often a hazard and some are situated almost directly in front of many of the tee boxes. Some of the original trees have been removed improving the access to some of the holes, golfers may still have to avoid the fairway hazards by hitting over them or simply risk trying to pass the ball through tree branches.
Gold Canyon plays to over 7,300 yards from the back tees and while the course is of fairly flat you need to be prepared to do a lot of walking as the distance from green to tee is often long and undulating. The 1st hole is wide open with a huge fairway and relatively easy. The course then gets tougher as you progress and the back nine is much more challenging than the front. There are a few tight driving holes but most fairways widen out around 200 yards off the tees. Three of the par 4 holes would almost be considered par 5’s on some courses.
